This is a full-time six month fixed term role, supporting Bidfoods 2025 Events! 

The opportunity: 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Bidfood, the largest wholesale food distributor in New Zealand, and play a key role in delivering exceptional events that deliver experiences for our branches, suppliers, and customers to come together.  

Supporting the Brand & Events Manager, you’ll handle the day-to-day administration, logistics, communication, and execution of events, including 17 regional Trade Shows—integral to our marketing strategy. 

With frequent nationwide travel, this 6 month hands-on role demands strong organizational and communication skills, engaging with stakeholders to ensure seamless event delivery. We’re looking for a proactive, events superstar ready to make an impact in the foodservice community. 

Overview of Responsibilities:

Event coordination:  

  • Plan and execute 17 regional Trade Shows, managing all aspects from pre-event preparation to post-event follow-up, ensuring seamless delivery of each event.   
  • Prepare and distribute event materials, including invitations, run sheets, promotional content, finalized floor plans, event briefs, and staff rosters.   
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for branches, suppliers, and customers, providing timely information and support while focusing on assisting branches with event preparation, supplier coordination, and logistics. 
  • Manage delegate data, RSVPs, supplier registrations, leads, and post-event reporting. Extract and manipulate event performance reports with internal stakeholders.   

Digital campaign management:  

  • Coordinate and schedule all digital event communications, including customer email invitations and updates, social media posts, and MyBidfood content.  Ensure consistent execution of the communications plan across all channels.   
  • Develop, manage and analyse social media content to drive engagement and event attendance. 

Onsite event management: 

  • Travel nationwide to attend all 17 Trade Shows (April–September 2025).
  • Be the main point of contact for the branches, suppliers, and customers at the events.  
  • Oversee onsite activities, address any issues in real time, and ensure all elements are executed flawlessly.   

 What We're Looking For:  

  • Highly organized with strong project management abilities.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Previous experience in events or a degree in event management is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented and compelling communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders
  • A team player who thrives on building connections and getting hands-on in projects.
  • A passion for food and travel, with a love for creating memorable experiences and events.
