Meat and Seafood Specialist

Due to yet another internal promotion, we love to grow and develop our team!  We have an exciting opportunity on offer as Meat and Seafood Specialist for the Nelson/Tasman/Marlborough region based in our modern, purpose built facilities in Richmond.

We are looking for a passionate, driven and operationally sound individual who seeks to deliver the ultimate internal and external customer experience through procurement, relationship management (with suppliers and the Bidfood team) and an overall dedication to excellence.

Our ideal candidate will hit the ground running with knowledge of what our customers need and want; perhaps you're from a chef background or butchery experience features in your career?  Equally important we seek a person, who can identify an opportunity, is happy on the phone or in person talking with suppliers/vendors one minute and customers directly the next, someone who has an easy manner, is personable and can influence others for positive results. 

This is a varied, demanding and unquestionably rewarding role for an energetic, positive and tenacious individual who is looking for the next step in their career. You will need to be very confident with multiple computer applications, a fast learner when it comes to using technology and have plenty of examples of your exceptional organisational skills, time management and administration experience to match your practical foodservice/hospitality/butchery skills and/or experience.

Skills & Experience

Microsoft Office suite at a proficient level

Ability to learn and operate multiple software applications

Exceptionally organised

Exceptional time management

Ability to manage accurate forecasting, purchasing and generating, facilitating and driving sales within the Meat, Poultry and Seafood categories, across a large geography (Nelson/Tasman/ Marlborough) 

Facilitation of knowledge to others to ensure they are fully knowledgeable and motivated in the Meat, Poultry and Seafood categories

Ability to foster and build vendor/supplier relationships for the betterment of Bidfood and our customers

Skilled in identifying and promoting new opportunities, developing sales and marketing plans that deliver results

Ability to maintain and grow strong relationships with new and existing customers to drive growth in the Meat, Poultry and Seafood categories
