We are looking for an experienced picker/packer to join our hard-working night shift team.  Based in Mangere, shifts will be worked over 5 nights per week (Sunday to Thursday), 7pm to 3am, plus one Friday in every three. Some flexibility around working hours is required as we respond to changing business needs, ie: additional hours as required, extra shifts may also be available.  Previous experience in a chiller/freezer warehouse environment is essential as you may work in our frozen store however full training and appropriate PPE will be provided. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a history of reliability as this is key to the success of our business. This position requires individuals to be physically fit as there is frequent heavy lifting of up to 25kg.  You will also need to undergo a health check to ensure that it is safe for you to work in the freezer. Preference will be given to applicants who have a desire to learn to operate and forklift and/or reach truck. 

The right candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: 

  • Excellent written and spoken English and numerical skills
  • The ability to work unsupervised
  • Accuracy and speed with picking and packing orders
  • Truck loading
  • Experience working a food distribution or similar warehouse environment
  • NO Criminal convictions
  • MUST provide 2 contactable work referees
  • NZ permanent residency or citizenship required

We offer:

  • Stable employment and hours - minimum 40 hours per week
  • A night shift allowance in addition to the hourly rate (starting rate $20 per hour + shift allowance)
  • Staff buying privileges after 3 months of service
