The Role: 

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Co-ordinator/ Graduate to join our busy manufacturing facility here in Auckland. This is an exciting and varied hands-on role supporting the smooth operation of Quality Assurance within a meat processing environment. You will play a key role in food safety, quality systems, compliance, and continuous improvement while working closely with a supportive QA team.

Reporting to the Compliance Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring the production of high-quality products. You will be required to follow strict standard operating procedures and maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety at all times. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Assure ongoing food quality systems and compliance – Food Safety and Health & Safety.
  • Food compliance record keeping. 
  • Supporting the production team in achieving food safety and quality goals
  • Conduct internal audits and coordinate staff training. 
  • Assist in external food safety audits, including evaluation of finding and implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues. 

  About You:

  • Knowledge in managing food safety systems, HACCP and quality in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Previous QC and processing experience will be an advantage but training will be provided.  This role will suit a food science graduate or those looking to learn and gain experience. 
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and quality. 
  • Positive attitude with focus on results.
  • Able to work well in a team as well as individually.

The operating hours are between 6am and 5pm Monday to Friday with a minimum of 40 hours/week, the applicants must be flexible with start and finish times with the option to work additional hours as required. You may be required to work on the occasional weekend day.
